Aluminium Die Casting FAQ

Clear answers to common questions, with general process guidance separated from verified RIVIMETAL company facts.

General Process Guidance

Understanding the project route.

What is high-pressure die casting?

High-pressure die casting is a manufacturing process in which molten metal is introduced into a steel die under pressure. The process route and component suitability must be evaluated against the actual geometry, production requirements and validation needs.

What information should an aluminium die-casting RFQ include?

A useful RFQ starts with the component drawing and project requirements. Available information about quantity, material requirements, finishing, validation and timing helps the supplier conduct a more focused feasibility review, but project-specific requirements should be confirmed directly.

Why are tooling and validation separate stages?

Tooling connects engineering and process preparation with physical sampling and validation. Validation then provides project-specific evidence before approval and serial production. Exact responsibilities and approval requirements must be confirmed for each project.

How should a buyer evaluate a die-casting supplier?

Assess the fit between the component and the supplier's verified equipment, engineering-review approach, post-casting route, quality systems, validation process and supplier documentation. Avoid relying on broad sector or marketing claims alone.

How is quality controlled in a die-casting project?

Quality can connect planning, risk review, process definition, validation, measurement, process control and structured problem-solving. The specific methods and customer requirements must be established for the project.

Verified RIVIMETAL Information

Company and capability questions.

What does RIVIMETAL manufacture?

RIVIMETAL manufactures high-pressure aluminium die-cast components and supports the project route from feasibility and engineering review through tooling, validation, approval and serial production.

Where is RIVIMETAL located?

RIVIMETAL's manufacturing base is in Markopoulo, Attiki, Greece.

What is RIVIMETAL's verified HPDC production range?

RIVIMETAL publishes six automated HPDC cells, a press range of 200 to 1,000 tonnes and a casting capability of 20 grams to 10 kilograms.

Which post-casting operations are performed in-house?

The published in-house operations are trimming, grinding, deburring, vibratory finishing, sand blasting, threading and tapping.

Does RIVIMETAL perform complex CNC machining in-house?

The published production model states that more complex CNC machining is provided through trusted specialist suppliers according to project requirements; it is not presented as an in-house capability.

Which quality methods does RIVIMETAL publish?

Published practices include APQP, PFMEA, Process Flowcharts, Control Plans, PPAP, FAI, SPC, MSA, 8D, 5 Whys, Ishikawa, Pareto Analysis, AIAG Core Tools and internal VDA 6.3 audits.

Which management-system certifications does RIVIMETAL hold?

The current verified certificates published by RIVIMETAL are ISO 9001:2015, ISO 14001:2015, ISO 45001:2018 and ISO 50001:2018. The actual certificate documents are available through the Certifications and Downloads pages.

Which aluminium alloy grades does RIVIMETAL publish online?

The current public project content does not list individual alloy grades, EN designations, chemical compositions or property tables. Material requirements should be reviewed for the specific project.

Can buyers upload a drawing with an RFQ?

Yes. RIVIMETAL's Submit an RFQ page provides a file-upload field for a drawing or RFQ document, subject to the form's stated file requirements.

Does the website claim defence customers or defence-specific certifications?

No. Defence Applications is part of the approved website architecture, but the public content does not identify defence customers, programmes, security clearances or defence-specific certifications.
